ActionComplete helps people around the world become purposeful, effective, and successful in career, relationships, and other aspects of life.
The hallmark of ActionComplete GTD Toolkit is its streamlined yet flexible and sophisticated task management approach that enables people of all walks of life to take a firm grip on their tasks, assignments, errands, and to-dos and put a stop to leaks through the cracks.
ActionComplete GTD Toolkit is designed to stay close to the vision of Getting Things Done book by David Allen. ActionComplete does not claim to be a "full implementation" of GTD. Rather, it takes its key elements and leverages them in an efficient and simple to use way.
ActionComplete manages four types of tasks: actions, waits, projects, and ideas. Actions are tasks that can be accomplished directly. Waits are delegated tasks that need to be followed upon or events that are to happen. Projects describe anything that cannot be completed in a single step. Ideas are thoughts that need to be captured but are not ready to be acted upon at this time.
You can assign a task three types of metadata: tags, people, and places.
People are Google Contacts. You can readily access a contact record linked to a task right from the app.
Places in ActionComplete allow you to attach location context to the tasks. Vicinity view shows the tasks that can be done nearby and suggests geographical features with names similar to ActionComplete place names. E.g. if there are tasks linked to places "WalMart" and "Starbucks" the Vicinity view will show you all nearby WalMarts and Starbucks. From there you can view the Google map of a particular location and use a wide array of functions provided by Google Maps such as GPS-based navigation and user reviews.
You can give a task a due date. Tasks due today and overdue tasks appear in green and red, respectively, so that you can spot them easily.
ActionComplete uses the concept of weight to define a relative importance or priority of tasks. Task panels are color-coded according to their weight for easy visual identification. Tasks with the greater weight value are considered more important.
You can leverage reminders to setup audible and visual alerts at specified times.
ActionComplete enables you to quickly get the best view of your tasks with the help of several filters and a number of sort options.
Projects can contain child actions and waits and allow you to create additional structure in your task management framework.
ActionComplete GTD Toolkit for Android supports smart voice entry for tasks. ActionComplete not only allows you to say the task name. It also understands places, due dates, and reminder times. E.g. saying "paper towels at walmart or target" will produce a task "paper towels" and link it to places "walmart" and "target" creating them as needed. You can also say something like "call john on March 5 at 1430". That will create a task "call john", assign it due date of March 5, and create a reminder on March 5 at 2:30PM.
ActionComplete comes with a configurable home screen widget that you can setup to show Actions, Waits, Projects, or Ideas. The widget allows you to perform the same operations as the main application right from the phone home screen.
Local export and import to/form comma-separated values (CSV) format can be used for backup and restore as well as moving data in and out of ActionComplete.
Convenience features of ActionComplete include assorted homescreen shortcuts, Due Today live folder, and integration with the system-wide search.
You can use ActionComplete for Android as a standalone application or together with ActionComplete for Web.
